THE MASTER'S IN CONTROL
On the road of life we face steep hills and sharp curves, Enfeebling the limbs and shattering the nerves. When we feel ourselvs slipping as we reach for life's goals Hurt hearts must believe the Master's at the controls. Often disease destroys the strength and courage of youth, And we must seek a cure, and cry for the truth; It's then we'll be tested in body and soul, Yet may reat assured, for the Master's in control. When loved ones are called to leave us behind, And the pain and sorrow strike our poor hearts blind, Or Satan's dirty blows may have taken terrible toil... Just keep in mind, the heavenly Father has final control. Many years then rolled by...God allowed Satan to ply his trade, Then a decision by the heavenly Father was lovingly made As He saw all the hurt and havoc that the devil had played... God's great heart sent His Son to die, and the sin-debt was paid. Sometimes tragedy hurts even worse than to see them die, That's when we must look into God's all-seeing eye. The Father's love and grace let's be sure to extol, And trust completely in His loving control. If you've gone further than most pilgrims have to go, There's one glorious truth you may forever know... When death's waves over you, at last, shall roll... Remember, especially then, the Master's in control! - C. M. Lewallen Sheridan, Arkansas October 26, 1996 |
